I am a planetary scientist by education, a sailor in practice, and an educator at heart. I grew up on the east coast, living on a sailboat with my family. In 2004 I moved to New Mexico to attend New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. New Mexico Tech has the option of a custom B.S. degree called Basic Sciences, which I chose so that I could create a Planetary Science degree. I graduated in 2010 after taking two sabbaticals to go sailing. In 2007 I was selected to be a part of Walt Disney's Morning Light Project, a small team of young adults training to race a TP-52 sailboat in the Trans-Pacific Yacht Race. Then, in 2009, I was asked to crew aboard the Privateer Lynx, a replica 1812 tall ship, in the Trans-Pac. Also during my college career, I chose to dedicate a year to AmeriCorps, doing in school tutoring and running an afterschool program for elementary school children. Now that I've returned from those adventures and completed my degree, I'm looking for a full time career to dedicate myself to.
